The instruction language of the program, which is offered as thesis and non-thesis variants, is Turkish. The courses are offered at Balgat Campus, at 18:00 p.m
There are two programs, non-thesis and thesis, and the courses of these programs are common. It is possible to switch between thesis and non-thesis programs when the necessary conditions are met.

Students who are not graduates of political science or related departments can be required by the Department of Political Science and International Relations to first take and pass the preparatory course PSI 199 (Politics: Basic Concepts) before they take compulsory and elective courses in both thesis and non-thesis programs. It is possible to take one (1) additional course by submitting a petition to the Department during the period when the scientific preparation course is taken.
The non-thesis program requires 3 compulsory and 7 elective courses must be taken. In addition to these 10 courses, there is a condition that the PSI 592/ Project course must be completed under the supervision of a faculty member / assistant and presented to the jury. The total number of general courses is 11. The program (excluding the scientific preparation) must be completed in a total of 3 semesters.
The thesis program requires 7 courses which consists of 3 must and 4 elective courses. In addition to these courses, the RME 500 (Research Methods and Ethics) course must be taken. In addition, there is a prerequisite for completing the PSI 590/ Seminar course under the supervision of a faculty member and presenting it to the jury. The total number of general courses is 9, in addition to this, a thesis must be written.
Students enrolled in the thesis program are recommended to take the RME 500 (Research Methods and Ethics) course in the early semesters. This course must be taken and successfully completed by the end of the fourth semester.
Students in the thesis program are expected to be able to read English materials due to the nature of the discipline. “The Chicago Manual of Style” reference system is used while writing the thesis. In order to earn the Master’s degree, the thesis must be successfully defended before a jury of academics. The information on the Social Sciences Institute home page regarding the thesis writing and the general process must be taken into account.
PSI 199 (Politics: Basic Concepts) and some electives can be opened in both terms. And when the sections are announced by all sections, only one opens.
